Hide Your Activity
You might feel safe sitting at your computer while your abuser is not around, but keep in mind that he or she may have ways of tracking your activity.
If your abuser read any of the email messages you’ve sent or found out what websites you’ve visited, would you be worried?
Then be careful.
Use a public computer if you can (e.g., at a school, public library or Internet café) or see if you can use a computer at the home of a trusted friend.
If you do choose to use your home computer, know that preventing your abuser from tracking your activity is difficult. Still, there are important steps you can take to protect yourself.
