Help us Stop the Cycle – Book a Presentation
We believe that education is the key to stopping the cycle of abuse. Help us achieve our vision of a community free of violence by inviting us to speak with your students, staff, or community group. Our presentations equip participants with the tools to understand abuse, recognize the warning signs, and find community services that can provide support in dealing with this difficult issue.
Women’s Place in the Classroom
Young people between the ages of 15 and 24 have the highest risk of dating violence.
With help from the Niagara Prosperity Initiative and Green Shield Canada, Women’s Place of South Niagara has designed resources and programming specifically targeted to students in grades 7-12. Our Stop the Cycle program, which typically last 1.5 hours (but can be adjusted to suit your time table), meets many Ontario Curriculum expectations, and engages both male and female students in the process of recognizing abusive and healthy behaviours their relationships.
While there is no fee for this program, Women’s Place always appreciates donations of non-perishable food items to help defray the costs of our programming. For a list of some of our most-needed items, please click here.
